Reviews:

evilKevin - SF Novel: Swallow the Sky by Chris Mead. A rollicking space opera.
Highly recommend. Available on Amazon for eBooks.

Andy - Would like to review Sherlock, but would be spoilery. Not sure if he
liked it, but will definitely be watching next weeks.

Brad
Passengers (film) Entertaining for a Hollywood film. But gets less like able as
it goes on. Worth Matinee.
SF Novel: Death's End by Cixin Lin. Highly recommend - especially if you like
the first 2 in the trilogy.

DaveC - Been getting Windows Service key about to expire calls, but not his
review. First Church of the Sacred Silversexual. Performances of Bowie songs.
Worth standing for 3.5 hours.

Carole - Saw Sing. Enjoyable, funny. Feel good film. Matinee or DVD. Animals
behaving stereotypically.

John O
Passengers - did not live up to the hype, but enjoyable. Plot on rails, some
telegraphing, a few Easter eggs. Saw in 3D, really well. Some science good,
some really wrong.
Book: The Plant Killers - 3 novels by Robert Silverberg from the '50s. Sort of
interlinked, but not really connected. Rip roaring space operas. Recommend.
Book: My sisters song by Gail Carriger. Short sweet and bloody. Definitely
readable.
Books: The Niantic Project: Ingress & Ingress: Level 8 - based on the game. By
Felicia Hajra-Lee. Fairly superficial, details on weapons. Pulls treads of the
game into an understandable story line.
Aetheus. Went to Canada. Sea to Sky gondola tour. 15 minute ride upto the
summit. Snow and trees. Good 4-hour trip. About $45 pp, worth full price, eh.

We did auctions

We adjourned at 20:56

and the rumor of the week was: This is an obscure reference.
