Reviews
Carole: Cinequest, saw several good shows. Liked animated shorts especially.
Silent film was with Greta Garbo "Flesh and the Devil". Last night's spotlight
was "Zoo Keepers Wife" as Oscar Worthy.
MichaelS: Moana movie and BD. Delightful, but the making of is stunning! Lots
of extra scenes. Available at Costco.
Adrienne:
Batman Lego Movie: Worth full price! Cute and amusing. Mo says story was great.
Batman 66 meets Steed & Mrs. Peel graphic novel: Interesting. They didn't quite
capture Emma Peel correctly. Ric: Batman 66 series is a fun read. They've used
previously unused scripts. Currently doing x-over with Wonder Woman 77.
JohnO:
Fathom event - All About Eve: Bette Davis & Anne Baxter, with Marilyn Monroe in
one of her first roles. Highly recommended. Worth the big screen. Mo: Must see,
great bitch movie! MichaelS: Robert Osborne of TMC passed away last week.
Logan: Absolutely Fabulous! Definitely R-rated. Lots of blood. Highly
recommended. No Easter eggs.
The Tao series by Wesley Chu. Rollicking good series. Prefer them to "Rise of
Io".
Gerold: Went to MarsCon in Minneapolis. Did a bunch of panels, and participated
in their science room. His dealer sold 5 of his books! Plans to go back next
year. Gayle: Very good for science, and stuff for the kids. Also a movie night,
saw Forbidden Planet & Moon.
Ric: Saw the Citizen Kane of giant monster movies: King Skull Island! Kong is
in the first 5 minutes. Samuel L Jackson is the best smallest monster of the
movie! Easter eggs. Full price!
Alison: AAA would rather not deal with Geico... Stick with AAA
DaveG: FogCon this past weekend. Fun little con. Recommends it, buy books. Was
mistaken for an author with the same name, and a dealer had some!
DaveC: Mark Hodder's "The Rise of the Automated Aristocrats". Rip Snorter,
highly recommended. Michael: Hope everyone saw the Babbage Engine at the CHM.
