Carole: Walking on cobblestones with joint problems will give you sore joints. Surprised by the cigarette buts in the cobblestones. Was responsible for costume programming at WorldCon. People seemed to enjoy it. Cosplay History panel was jammed packed! Andy suggested Aifur in Stockholm - an excellent restaurant. Met people from many countries. People would start conversations with her and bill. JC. Had a blast (first overseas trip) Norwegian air was comfortable, but will pay for better seats next time. Hotel was lovely - cute room. Didn’t like the food palate, though the pizza across the street was incredible. Enjoyed the nightlife (a little too much...). Beth got FaceTime calls from JC (form clubs, bars and his room). Bill. Helsinki is about Oakland sized, but very friendly (even the drunks). Fun on transit (planes and ferries). Ate at a Viking restaurant in Helsinki, good food. Ate Savota, a Finnish restaurant. Tar flavor seems to be a thing. Lisa: The eclipse! Went to Albany, OR. Absolutely gorgeous. Took 2 days to drive up. Traffic back was horrible. Albany is a wonderful town. Just opened a newly carved carousel - done by locals. The hotel had many different countries represented. The weather was clear. The eclipse nuts all hung out through the end of the eclipse (others left after totality). Next one is 2024. Yochanon: Went to Eugene, OR. Saw it in Snag Boat Bend with his AirBnB hosts. Was worth the trip back. Gerald: Casper, WY. Camped with telescope. After they went north to Sheridan, then Thermopolis- dinosaurs, hot springs, buffalo, and good food! Travel fried, but wonderful. JohnO: Saw Leap!. Animated by Canadian companies. Story of an orphan who wants to be a ballerina. Definitely worth matinee. Saw Atomic Blonde. The best James Bond movie. Highly recommend. Then 3-day trip with DJ during Summer of Heroes (may have stopped Thor a little bit). Enjoyed GotG ride. Going back for Halloween. JC says Beth knows her Captain America by his but. JC: Went on a date with Beth. Saw Spider-Man: Homecoming. Really enjoyed the interaction with the MCU. The new guy beats out the previous ones. Long but good. Recommend full price. Beth: 1 pillow movie. 9:15 show at the end of first week back at work. Yochanon: Saw Dark Tower. Forgettable bit of nonsense. Good acting. Not worth the cheap Tuesday price. RickM: Caught up with Legion. Worth collecting the DVDs. Watch with no particular expectations. Mo: You have to watch the show, it won’t hold your hand. Adrienne: Rifftraxx: Five Doctors. Both her an Mo enjoyed. If it comes around again, catch it. Series finale of Orphan Black: Freaking awesome. Worth collecting all 5 seasons. DaveC: Joe’s Italian Ice at Harbor and Wilkin in Anaheim.
