The VP took a moment on behalf of the club to express condolences on the
Treasurers recent loss.

Pacific International Quilt Fest 10/12-15 at SC Conv Center. Some quilts may be
of fannish interest, as well as general fabric art.
eKevin: The vendor area is a a treasure trove for makers.

APE at SJ Conv center. WC76 will have a fan table there. Come by and help

Experimental Rocket Propulsion Society. Space Access is opening the (mid to
late April) 2018 conference to other locations. ERPS is looking for help to run
it.

WorldCon. Their Hamburg hotel had just opened (Holiday Inn Express). Miniature
Wonderland is the most enormous model train layout, and miniature life with
planes landing and taking off. Ferry from Lubek, Germany. 30 hour (2 nights)
ride across the Baltic. Mostly drive on and trucking. Good way to get
acclimated to the time. After convention went to Finnish rail museum, and a
Viking restaurant. Wonderful 2.5 weeks in Europe.

WorldCon Trip: Iceland is expensive, because the Kroner is the most thinly
traded currency. Spectacular. Golden Circle tour is worth it. Most interesting
food they’ve seen.

A week ago saw the movie Contact with Jill Tartar narrating.
JC:
Second week of The Orville. Better story. More drama, less comedy.
Lisa likes the dev. of secondary chars.

Read Giant of the Senate by Al Franken. (Fantasy?) Worth it, paperback soon.
