Reviews

Adrienne:
Watching The Thick of It. Malcolm Tucker is one horrible character. Moves
quickly. Political satire, with a potty mouth.

Bradford:
Comic book Price-guide came out: Thank god for Wonder Woman (they’ve been going
through the roof!) Silver age is steady, golden age going up. Bad new, higher
premiums for insurance...

DaveC:
Horrorstör, by Grady Hendrix: Looks like an IKEA catalog, but is a horror
story. Fun. Worth full price.
Went to the Elbo Room for a meeting of the Church of the Silver Sexual, the
Saint David Bowie. Fun show, worth full price.

Gerald:
Watched Star Trek: Discovery. Nice sets, good looking actors, in buyable plot.
YMMV.
JC: Will make his own judgement. Thought it was a nice new series. Classic
homages made (SFX, aesthetics). Looking forward to seeing more. Thought it was
worth full price.
Alex: This is not going to be like other Trek series’. Part 2 sets up the rest
of where the series is going - not episodic. Looking forward to it, was not
what he expected.
Lisa: Only part she will see until DVD. Not sure if CBS isn’t cutting off their
nose to spite their face.

JC:
Went to Folsom St. Fair. Lot of fun. Hot. So dense of people at one point. Well
run. Entertaining. Good wares. Lots of people in various states of dress (or
not). Beth did look f-ing hot.

Bill
Last bit of Scandinavia: Hotel in Reykjavik was down from the City Hotel
Downtown (The Hotel Borg). Not cubical.
Saw Castle in the Sky. High quality, interesting story. Worth the cost.
Sandra: Saw Nausicaa. Recovering from a war. If they left the forest, it would
help recovery, but people want to burn it down./ Worth full price.

Andrew:
Spent 2 days at APE promoting WC76. If you are into small press comics,
interesting artists, it is a nice little event. A third of the big tent. Had a
pretty good time.
DaveC: Previously APE was a large event, and it could be again.
Fred: Worth the price of admission. People at tables were friendly and happy to
be there.

There was an auction item.

The meeting adjourned at: 20:52 and the rumor of the week was: Don’t worry
until you start receiving the SkyMall catalog
