Reviews

JC:
ConVolution: Hotel - big difference from the old hotel. Marriott San Ramon was
fantastic. Call buttons in function spaces. Layout was good for the con. Con
staff was awesome. Workshops were well attended, as well a s special events.
Bryan & Mette did a lot of workshops. Hotel food was good, moderately priced -
some slow service. Came together nicely. One of the better Convolutions. The
parties were wonderful (Kevin’s Robin was magnificent.) Chuck was amazing, and
very professional. Four costume items from FireFly were on display for the very
first time.
Lisa. Got to everything she wanted to see. The workshops were great fun. Loved
the hotel size, has some room to grow, wonderful staff. Didn’t feel like she
was walking all over the place. Target was close by, as well as other food.
Diane. Ditto. Supply runs all over could be done in an hour. Good restaurants.
Hotel had shuttles running in a 5mi radius. Various outside areas.
ChrisO: Great workshops. Most part staff was wonderful. Their room was prepped
for their allergy requirements.
TerryTerry The staff enjoyed the convention.
JohnO. Bellhop asked if John had been to Dundercon (it’s fun). Did a Chuck
Tingle reading. One of the readers had never read a Tingler... Spread money
around the dealer’s room. The Hawaiian shirt folks got a lot his money. Parties
were great. Still felt a little hung-over Monday morning.
DaveC: There as a dealer. Did about the same business as last year. The loading
dock was clean and dry and pristine. Likes this loading dock.
Beth. Registration area had plenty of space, slow internet at times. Went to
PaintNight (with drinks). Saturday parties were wonderful. Bought stuff.
Housekeeping, even at late night, was prompt.
eKevin: He had the room problems. Had to be moved 2 or 3 times. Thrilled with
the response to the BatRave party, and the Masquerade. Ran a race Sunday
morning.
Andrew: Saw people intently working in the workshops. The hotel’s neighborhood
has a lot of stuff there, and not the airport wasteland of the old location.
Costco’s, BevMo, Staples, WholeFoods all convenient. Layout was excellent.
Excellent time.
Fred: Across the street is a pathway to a pond with waterfowl - invisible from
the street!
Gerald:
Saw SpaceX launch the Falcoln9. 5:30am, beautiful and spectacular. Then drove
to the meeting.
Bradford:
Read “Guts: The Anatomy of the Walking Dead” by Paul Vigna. Covers through
season 7. Looks at the appeal, covers serious topics. Get the book.

There was an auction.

The meeting adjourned at: 21:14 and the rumor of the week was: BASFA nominated
the San Ramon Marriott for the headquarters hotel for the 2019 NaSFic.
