Reviews

Ric:
Netflix has What Happened to Monday, dystopian SF story about overpopulated
world with a child restriction. Story is about septuplets that were kept
secret. Each take turns being in public. Surprising depth.

Yochanon:
How to Launch and Entertainment Startup event in Cupertino. Guests were great.
Went a little long. Free event with free snax. Q&A and autographs. Not hugely
attended. Bought the second season volume of These Are The Voyages.
Carole went on Saturday, which was more of a reception.

Adrienne:
Saw Thor! Fun movie. May not stick with her forever (except maybe Thor’s chest).
SpecialK Says it’s Hella Good.
Carole. Saw it in IMAX - enjoyed it. Fun dumb superhero movie. Enjoyed Stan
Lee’s Cameo. Stay to the end of the credits.
Bill. Found the movie a retread of old ground. Doesn’t feel as fresh, but had
fun dialogue. Borrowed themes from the Norse Ragnarock.
Ric: Thor comics has been done 3 times. Really happy with the blending planet
hulk, and the Scourge character. One of the best non team Marvel stories.
Atheus: Enjoyable but not Marvelous?

Brad:
Saw Murder on the Orient Express. Enjoyed it.
Hex Justice League souvenir cup. Not entirely practical.

Bill:
Ohio Valley Filk Festival. The Pegasus awards. Seanan McGuire was a GOH. Had a
great time. Worth the trip.

Ross:
The Fire Upon the Deep by Vernor Binge. Early ‘90s, but not dated. Space Opera
with variable physics. Mid evil planets, treachery, teamwork, survival, epic!
First of three. All sorts of interesting. Gives is an A.

There was an auction.

Meeting adjourned at: 21:20 and the rumor of the week was: Nutrageous
