Reviews

Dianne
Read multiple books that were good. All by Ferrett Steinmetz’s Flux, Flex &
Fix. Highly recommend. Has another called The Uploaded.
BarCon. Bozze, J-Rock, Anime, Video Games. Fun. Monthly at Back Bar, in San
Jose.

DaveC
Went to First Church of the Silversexual this weekend. Dedicated to the worship
of David Bowie. Several local musicians come together to sing his works. Friday
was sold out, but was able to get in on Saturday. Worth standing 3.5 hours for.

JC
With Beth saw Jumanji. Watched the first one the day before. It is a sequel.
Lots of nods to the original. Whole smacking’ of fun. Dwane Johnson seems to be
having a lot of fun. Jack Black was good (and doesn’t usually like JB) Worth 2D
Matinee. 0 Pillows for Beth (used a fidget cube to stay awake)
JohnO - saw it as well, and enjoyed it. Cinemark Movie Club price $8.99.
Gorgeus locations. The adult cast captured the teen characters.

Bill
He and Carole went the US Figure Skating at the Tank. Stuffed toys could be
bought to throw on the ice - which would be donated to charity (instead of
flowers) which is an index of popularity. 2 men’s and 1 ladies olympians are
from SJ. Had a good time.
Carole. Seeing it live you don’t get a commentator, so you don’t get an idea
how the judging is done.
Christmas in the Park was still up, but the trees were turning brown and the
animatronic displays referenced business gone. Christians, atheists and
satanists were represented.

Mo
Finally saw Valerian. If you appreciated Heavy Metal, you’ll appreciate this.
French comics in origin. Living comic book - could almost see the word bubbles.
Worth renting from Amazon.

Atheus
Movie: Disaster Artist. Enjoyed for what it was. Nice cameo. Half price Tuesday
at the Great Mall. Worth it.
DaveC: James Franco just won a Golden Globe for it.
SV Auto Show. Got 2 free tickets for buying his Volt. Entries from Hydrogen
makers that are now doing other alternative vehicles. Forth the parking.
Carole. Went to look at new cars because her Capri is failing smog. Sat in a
Tesla 3. Not as comfortable as the Nissan Leaf.

There was an auction.

The meeting adjourned at: 21:38

and the rumor of the week was: You can see his bagpipes in there.
