Fathom Events.
JohnO saw the poster, and there is an interview with Tom Baker.
Ken - This is a reconstruction of the 1975 BBC omnibus edition that was
supervised by the director - hence it’s being labeled a "Directors Cut"

Reviews

ChrisO
Her and JohnO saw Solo. Seems like people like or hate it - they liked it.

Yochanan
Deadpool 2 - Liked it a lot, not as much as the first one.
Fanime - Really good time Lot of energy. Enjoyed the masquerade. There was a
swap-meet - got a sonic spork. Cosplayed for the first time.
Read From the Ashes by Sandra Saidak. San Jose author. Alternate history (the
Nazis won). Compelling. Highly recommends.

Doug
John Scalzi writes popcorn fiction. Bought The Collapsing Empire at BayCon and
finished it at BayCon. Can’t wait for the next book (made threats of singing
opera at Scalzi to get him to hurry up.)

Carole
Went to BaltiCon. Nice convention, worthwhile. Sadly Larry Niven had to cancel
- but his nephew tendered his disappointment at not attending.
Bill - Missed half the con due to being laid low. His filking was received
well. Glad he went.

(evil)Kevin
Was at Maker Faire with the IBMQ team - winning awards
Then flew to New York to the TJ Watson Research Center for IBMQ training.
Intense.
Then flew to Las Vegas for Punk Rock Bowling over Memorial Day Weekend. They
actually bowled (his best was a 98 with 2 strikes!)
Andy - saw some interesting acts at Punk Rock Bowling. Investigated some new
(to them) bars. Lots of Vegas eating and seeing talked about.
This last weekend - just hid from every one…

Gayle
Finished reading The Martian Obelisk by Linda Nagata (Hugo finalist) Set in
Hawaii and Mars. Touching story. Recommends
Fred and ChrisO second that
JohnO says tough year for Hugo voting.

Gerold
If Tomorrow Comes by Nancy Kress. Remarkably good SF novel. Page turner,
thoughtful, and goes in unexpected directions. Eligible for next year’s Hugos.

Atheus
Listed to All Systems Red by Martha Wells (Nebula winning novella). Follows the
story of a MurderBot that broke it’s programming, and enjoys trashy space soap
operas…. Worth the $5 on Audible.

Fred
Downloaded the Hugo packet, and everything is fine. Give it a go!

Ken and Jerry
Can now say “This one time at band camp…” with the SFLGFB this past weekend.
Lots of fun and silliness. For the talent show Jerry (and several other band
members) performed a flag routine to the Monty Python classic Sit on My Face.

There was no auction…

The meeting adjourned at 21:38 and the rumor of the week was: It’s Harold’s
all the way down.
