(Gordon might…) Reviews DaveG At the end of July, he and Spring went to Las Vegas for the big Star Trek Convention (creation.) Spring is a dealer there. Dealers room schedule was: Tu 6-10:30p, W 9a-7p, Th 8:30a-7p, Fr 8a-7p, Sa 8a-7p Sun 8a-6p. This is referred to as the creation death march. Everyone seemed to have a good time. Sales were decent. Came home for 4 days then Worldcon76. MeTV on Sat night/Sun am. - Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea TV series. This past weekend was the season 2 opener - in color. Like Lost in Space, became dumbed down when in color. Still entertaining, but first season more interesting. DaveC: Look at Lost in Space for Irwin Allen’s commitment to special effects. MeTV only on ATT-Uverse in the Bay Area (no cable or over the air since January.) Parent company is looking to purchase a local broadcaster. Gordon Last weekend went to Bubonicon 50 in Albuquerque, NM. Good time had by all. Strong art show. Carole Saw Christopher Robin at the Pruneyard (dinner and a movie in one!) Enjoyable. Can be enjoyed at home if you can’t make it to the theatre. Bill: Was in the mood for Pooh. Live action with Obi Wan and Doctor Who (12), Agent Carter. Enjoyable. JohnO: Also saw it this weekend. Enjoyed. Worth movie club membership ($8/ea) Will tickle your memory bone… Gerold Diana Paxon has finished the 8th book of Westria series - The Turquoise Scepter. Not his usual fare, but found it a good page-turner. (based on unedited manuscript.) JohnO Planned to do either the whole MCU in IMAX, or Harry Potter. DId Deathly Hallows (1&2) on Sat night. Fairly fresh to him & Chris. They cut a lot of the angsty teens in the tent from the books out. Storyline holds together, but the ending felt rushed. Wrapped up well. Realized in book 5 that Neville was going to be the real hero. Back-to-back is worth it. Lisa: SyFy has been marathoning HP this weekend as well. New Fantastic Beasts is this November. There was an auction Meeting adjourned at: 21:16 and the rumor of the week was: The president of BASFA is unimpeachable.
