cover). analogsf.com/next-issue/ <http://analogsf.com/next-issue/>

SFMOMA is currently hosting a Magritte exhibition. Allow time to get to the
museum due to the Marriott strike. sfmoma.org/exhibition/rene-magritte/

DaveC
Went to San Francisco, saw the Marriott strike. Felt nostalgic from when he was
negotiating for the 1993 WorldCon, and the Marriott also had a strike.

Ken

Reviews

Gordon
Went to MileHiCon 50. 1200 in attendance. All previous guests were invited back
(at least 23 of them came). Opening ceremony was a red carpet. They did a GOH
Pechakucha. Lot of fun. Worth full price. milehicon.org <http://milehicon.org/>

Gayle
Visited the Island of Kauai. Never been before. Went to monuments and remains
(some found, and others not). If you’ve not been, you should go.
Gerold: Keoki’s paradise bar, tiki bar in its native habitat
(keokisparadise.com <http://keokisparadise.com/>). Launch rail at the Pacific
Missile Range is there for solid rocket launches. Has not successfully launched
a satellite yet…

Vikas
Read The Gene, an Intimate History by Siddhartha Mukherjee. Details genetics.
From Greek and Egyptian concepts to Darwin to DNA, human genome project and
modifications. Comprehensive. Recommends.

Lisa
Doctor Who: Rosa. Excellent. Deals with Rosa Parks. Interesting and poignant
way of doing the story. See it!
DaveG: Good to see a historical this early.
Ken: Made Jerry uncomfortable for all the the right reasons.

Beth
2 weeks ago on Wednesday, it was her and JC’s 8th anniversary. Went to
Candytopia in SF (candytopia.com <http://candytopia.com/>). Delightful candy
filled experience. Candy to eat, slides and swings and other things to
experience - especially the marshmallow ball pit. Candy made art (don’t lick!)
Then Thursday morning got up at 4:30 am and drove to Annaheim. Swung by CalPoly
Pamona to see Kaitlyn.
Friday went to Disneyland in the day, and Universal in the evening for their
Halloween. Mazes based on horror films. It rained while there, with lightning.
Lot of fun.
JC: Disneyland - Bugs Life are of California Adventure is cordoned off with
Stark industries signs.
This past Friday saw A Star Is Born. Bring tissues. Wonderful performances.
JC: Takes you in unexpected directions. Full price.

Gerald
CampbellCon. A mini-comic-con put on at West Valley College in Saratoga. One
building/One day. Not a great success for his personal sales, despite a great
number of people. May not go next year. campbellcon.com
<http://campbellcon.com/>
Lisa: was there as well. Oktoberfest is why they had to move from Campbell this
year. Like to go to see what the young comic artists are doing, and pick up
some fannish things. Saw Jon Campling - one of the Death Eaters from Harry
Potter and the Deathly Hallows - there. Fun. Bigger room than in Campbell. More
of a mini-BigWow.
Gayle: Took a turn around the dealers and was impressed with the art work.

We had an auction

Meeting adjourned at: 20:52 and the rumor was: Meeting 1473 was a riot.
