New Business

A small survey of the membership was taken regarding likely attendance on the
last two Mondays of the year. Those meetings are on Christmas and New Year’s
eves. Of the seventeen people in attendance, 6 people indicated that they are
likely to attend on December 24, and none of those in attendance indicated that
they are likely to attend on December 31.

We will need to let the management know that while we don’t plan to cancel our
meetings, we are likely to have attendance of low to none over those two weeks.

Had been looking for a good swimming place, that fit his hours, and found the
Milpitas Star Aquatic Center. $40 per month and open to 11 p.m. They have a lap
pool and a small family pool, which are actually kept warm - not merely
not-cold. Day passes are available. Worth full price, especially as it’s
five-minutes from home. msta-swim.com <http://msta-swim.com/>

Went to the 3Below’s Beauty and the Beast Sing-along. Had lots of fun. Shannon
had a tiara and a suit with bells on. Cute animated sing-along icons that
matched the lyrics. This was the live action version, which has songs from the
stage version that weren’t in the otiginal animated film. Check out their site
3belowtheaters.com <http://3belowtheaters.com/> for upcoming shows (including
Who’s Holiday, which several BASFAns will be attending on Friday, December 14.)

Read Unsympathetic Magic by Laura Resnick. It’s the third Esther Diamond Novel.
Got bogged down with an 80 page info dump in the middle. The editor obviously
wasn’t doing their job. Didn’t finish it, but will go on to the next in the
series.

Ken
Saw Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald on Thursday. Wasn’t really
whelmed by it. A bit like Empire Strikes Back, in that it sets up the rest of
the series, but unlike Empire it wasn’t as exciting. Not worth the price of
IMAX (though it did look good in IMAX…)
Carole: A friend gave it a C-
DaveG: Better than C-. Saw it at a real IMAX theatre. It moved slowly. Thought
it was worth IMAX.

We had an auction

Meeting adjourned at: 21:02, and the rumor was: Jerry shot first
