Reviews

Bill
He and Carole went to Lantern Light Fest at the Alameda Fair Grounds. Chinese
illuminated art, with very little cultural education. Not as authentic.
Went to Seattle for ConFlick. Well worth going, and had a good time
Was in Berkeley for a rare Kodo concert (Japanese taiko) Bay Area Fandom was
well represented. Worthwhile. Pleasantly astonished.
If you missed yesterday’s commercials, Captain Marvel & Avengers Endgame.
Looking forward to the first, not so much the second…

DaveC
Saw Escape Room. Felt dirty afterwards…
Comic book Injustice (DC) Alt superhero series, where the Joker arranged for
the death of Lois and (unborn) at the hands of Superman. Superman decides to
set the world straight, but not all heroes are on board. Bit End OF Days kind
of feel. Injustice and Masters of the Universe is now the current series. Dave
is now free from the series.
Ric: Was not meant to go as long as it did. Spinoff of a video game. There’s a
new set coming out where DC heroes are drawn like Masters of the Universe.
Ric
Last two episodes of The Orville: Socially relevant. All The World Is a
Birthday Cake - dealing with a theocracy. A Happy Refrain - better. Focus on
the Doctor’s relationship with ISAAC. Norm Macdonald actually appears.
Fred: Last episode. Not a dry eye.
Ken: Refrain made me cry.
Andy: Better than the Next Generation’s episode In Theory
Lisa: Seth (as writer) interesting to watch. Turned it into serious.
Saw Tigton on adult swim. After 2 episodes interesting play on sword & sorcery
tropes with an interesting animation techniques. Gonna watch a couple more.
Recommend if you like other adult swim programs.
Lisa
3Below had a Moana sing-a-long. Now has ear-worms, but it was delightful.
They’re always great fun.
Ken: Next one is Mary Poppins beginning of March.

Meeting adjourned at: 20:51, and the rumor of the week was: We are thinking
about the rumor of the week, we’ll let you know next week.
