the VP reported that he & Geri will not be here for Gallifrey weekend, even
remotely, & that Rick will be here, filling in for him, but otherwise had
nothing fannish to report

the President had nothing fannish to report among his 'half-vast' wisdom

There were no committee reports

no old or new business

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Ken announced that 100 years ago today, John Logie Baird gave the very
first demonstration of television. This event was later used in the Doctor
Who 60th anniversary special 'The Giggle'.
         & he also announced that Psycho Donuts has closed

Lisa announced that Gallifrey One is coming up in 2 weeks at the LAX
Marriott & pre-reg is available until Jan 31, with the annual
pre-convention Launch Party on February 5 at 8:00pm & the con runs from Feb
6-8

Rick announced that he will host a public hike on 'Superb Owl Sunday' this
year

Gerald announced that he & Gayle will be attending Radcon, Feb 12-16 in
Pasco Washington

Reviews:

Lisa reviewed the first 2 episodes of the new Dr Who spin-off, 'the War
Between the Land and the Sea' & she found it interesting & not as dark as
some later Who & she looks forward to seeing more. There were several folk
saying they enjoyed it as well
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_War_Between_the_Land_and_the_Sea
           Lisa also reviewed the new 'Star Trek Academy' show as she finds
it really interesting & looks forward to seeing more episodes. Rick states
that he loved episode 3 & Yochanan likes the show, except for the theme
song & then there was some general discussion to the topic
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_Starfleet_Academy_(TV_series)

Yochanan reviewed a movie streaming on Amazon Prime called 'Bookworm' that
he found entertaining & very cute. He highly recommends it
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bookworm_(film)
           Yochanan also reviewed '28 Years Later - the Bone Temple' & he
highly recommends seeing '28 Years Later' before viewing it - or read a
concise summary or you won't understand what's going on. He found it
interesting that the movie's human survivors are more monstrous than the
folks who suffer from the Rage Virus. He rates it as worth full price if
you love the series or matinee otherwise
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/28_Years_Later:_The_Bone_Temple
           Yochanan also reviewed a South Korean disaster movie called 'The
Great Flood' that he loved the visuals and special fx for, but that the
plot is pretty confusing. He liked it, but didn't love it & rates it as
worth '?' [a question mark]
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Flood_(film)

Rick reviewed a series on Max called 'Doom Patrol' that he has seen 2 of
the 4 seasons of thus far & that it is entertaining but you have to view it
and accept that there are some things that are weird just for the sake of
being weird. Yochanan has also seen this series and he loved all of it
see = https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_Patrol_(TV_series)

Ken reviewed having suffered with hand, foot & mouth disease as not worth
any price at all

Gerald reviewed a military deployment of 1500 troops that happened last
weekend in Minnesota as it was handled in good order and peacefully - so it
can be done

we adjourned at = 8:45 pm

Rumor of the Week: 'Murder on ice, by ICE, live and on camera for the mad
king's entertainment'

there were no auctions
