Without any GUI, description, or specification, I won't merge this in
right away, but if you develop this further and send me a series of
patches, I will take a look at them and integrate them.

Also, think of each patch (commit) as an email, so for the commit
message body (add two newlines after the "subject" in the commit
message), you could type in this exact message:

If you could develop it further, and revise the commit, that would be
great.  Alternatively, you can host your git repository somewhere
(such as github), and I can comment on it there, or just keep
attaching series of patches on this mailing list.
