I used Batik in my degree's project, just finished last week.
It's called SIME, which stands for Enterprise Simulator and it aims
to be sort of a Decision Support System, using a notation for representation
of business processes in UML.
I used a XLST to transform business processes in XML to diagrams in SVG,
and the Batik as a rasterizer to transcode them to PNG.
No homepage available, but this work was done on
INESC's Centro de Engenharia Organizacional (http://ceo.inesc.pt)
