Hello, There is a transcoding hint to set the background color in an org.apache.batik.transcoder.image.ImageTranscoder (see the KEY_BACKGROUND_COLOR description).
If you are using the rasterizer application, you can use the -bg a.r.g.b option to set the background, for example: -bg 255.255.255.255 for white.
