It does. Shows some background and discussion about dependencies. Unless a dependency is fully required and there are no options like for example use you own js engine, then the only dependencies should be batik on batik in the maven repository pom. User can readily add their dependency choice in their development pom that is depending oon batik jars.
I've made up some pom's and there are a few that need their js and xerces dependencies removed. Albeit, I don't have authorization to push the jars and poms onto the maven repository.
