where is the API exactly?

Hi everybody,   I am newbie with Batik.   I downloaded batik 1.1.1 for windows. But, my problem is that, I don't know exactly which files are part of the implementation of the SVG specification and whick files are part of demo applications.   I have the same problem with documentation because, in the javadoc, I can see package for browser... but I just want to use the implementation of Graphics2D by the batik API.   In fact, I just want to draw an image but with the SVG format so I don't need the browser...   Thanks for your future responses.
