Hello, I'm developing a class library to help draw SVG images (train schemas) using the SVGGraphics2D class. This all works well and allows me to develop my classes using the Java 2D api and abstracts me from having to worry about the details of the SVG. However there are places where I want to do more than draw images and include behaviour via JavaScript. I can't see how I can do this using the Java 2D api and was hoping that there would be some way that during the building of my schema I could grab hold of the DOM structure and add my javascript element to the last element I added to the structure (as logic this would mean something like my Seat class when it paints itself using drawRoundRect() it could then get that element from the DOM structure and add a bit of JavaScript as an attribute to that element).
As an alternative if this is not possible would it be possible to add elements to my DOM structure via SVGGraphics2D class for classes (when I say classes I mean my classes that abstract the different SVG elements) that do not require the scripting but also add elements as standard DOM elements for those that do require the scripting e.g. the Seat class. In other words can I mix and match the 2 mechanisms for building the SVG? Can anyone offer any advice?
