  There is nothing wrong with your code.  I tried it in my applet test
harness and it works fine.  There are two things with applets
  1. Include all the required libraries.
  2. They must be signed.

Attached a html page to run your applet under netscape or IE.  This should
indicate which libraries (all of them) you need.  TestCanvas.jar contains
the compiled classes and the svg document.  Note: It not only contains
JSvgApplet.class but other class files generated by the compiler.  Be sure
to include these in the jar.
