I don't think there are any directories in the classpath, but I will double check and dig a little deeper into these issues.

I just committed a change to ensure that the LocalizableSupport always provides the correct class loader before searching for the resource bundle. I would be curious if this helps the http request issue. Also reading the JavaDocs this shouldn't be an issue for an Applet but I am a little wary that the requests for the classloader may cause security exceptions to be thrown (the docs say it shouldn't in this case, but....).
