I expierienced the same and modified my batik, so it do not write a Gamma-Chunk in PNGs so it is displayed on M$ IE correct. otherwise the IE always dimmed the pictures.

Hi all.
I get some weird behaviour when transcoding
to PNGs on OSX.
For some reason, the colours come out dimmer than they
should. It's as if the gamma chunk in the PNG is incorrect
(which it isn't AFAICT). This has never happened to me
on Windows, only OSX. For a while I thought it was
the applications I was using to view, but I get consistently
incorrect results.
Transcoding to JPG produces the correct colours.
I'm using Batik 1.5.1 (on 10.3.3).
Any ideas or suggestions?
Dean
