Cool--thanks. This looks like just the info I needed. As for determining the rendered size, I should be able to calculate that from the containing FO context, which would normally specify explicit dimensions for the container of the SVG. In most cases we would have complete control over the generation of the FO data so it shouldn't be a problem.
