Thanks for your helpful advice. As I also wanted to use the command line
options to select only a portion of the complete graphic it was easier
in the end to embed the font definition in the SVG file.

Works similarly for Type 1 fonts. In case that's not obvious, font
embedding in PDF is not yet possible from the Rasterizer command-line.
You need to write your own little Java wrapper.
