A vaguely remember that ASV was not able to refer to elements inside
another SVG file. I could be wrong, but I remember it being a problem
on a project where we had a library of shapes we wanted to reference in
several files. ASV did not support referencing those definitions from
the other file.
We "solved" the problem by embedding the symbols we needed into each
output file.
