Title: Reducing complexity of SVG-Files

Hi,

I' ve got some SVG's showing the engineering drawings of technical equipment. This SVG's have a great complexity and show many details I don't really need. In consequence the files are really big (up to 2MB) and the rendering is accordingly slow.

For this reason and for a better handling, I like to reduce the complexity of the files and remove all the details not seen through the user. So my question is: Offers the batik library a possibility to identify if a SVG-object is visible to the user after the rendering is complete? Or how can I perform a check, if an SVG-object is part of the first visible layer?

I hope you understand what I like to achieve und I'll be pleased if you can give me some suggestions.

Regards,
Florian
