There's a little talk around the web of newer languages like C# having
advantages over Java.

However I have not seen anything as good as batik on ANY language.

Java has many other rich functionality libraries, many from apache and on
sourceforge too.

As far as I can see it is very much alive.

With technology like Groovy building on Java, the platform is going to be
around for a while yet.

C# is being standardized by independent organisations and is being cross
platform developed. However I get the impression this cross platform support
is nothing like what Java currently enjoys. And C# has nothing like batik.

Your thoughts?
