batik, ecmascript DOM?

appears broken for squiggle, but wfm Opera, ff has no icons(!use) and
Safari has a known reported bug.
it's a chat viewer on the web for irc://irc.freenode.net/#svg with
icons where available.
would squiggle cater with:
Header("content-type: application/x-javascript");
I hadn't appreciated that this might work with Batik and would like it
to, if possible...
can't find an obvious breaker, besides perhaps this?
