Thanks for your reply 1/ I am guessing I only to rasterization. Batik is invoked from FOP. THe image is included using fo:external-graphic element that refers to an svg file on the local disk
2/ I understand it is close to impossible to help without a repro. I will try to build one later. 3/ As all Batik code is invoked from fop I am really not sure what is done at that point nor whether this is following the guidelines. perhaps some image cache is being used by fop while batik for some reason changes the dom while rastering.
