Bioinformatics.Org is offering the following courses next month.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BI211A Protein-Protein Interactions; Jul 7-11, 2008
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With systems biology budding as a discipline, there is a colossal need for
biologists to understand the interactions within biological networks. There has
been much talk about systems biology and protein-protein interactions (PPI),
and this course will dig into some of the fundamental issues concerning PPIs,
their need and usage. The exercises and take-home messages in this course will
encourage students to give some thought to the topics covered and hopefully
build some excitement about the field of systems biology.

CS101E Python for Biologists, Level 1; Jul 7-11, 2008
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This course aims at teaching Biologists how to use Python as a programming
language to automate routine data management tasks in biological research and
solve difficult data-related computational problems. Data could be DNA or amino
acid sequence, microarray data, images, mass spectrometry data, LIMS data, or
any other kind of biological information.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CS101C MySQL for Biologists, Level 1; Jul 14-18, 2008
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taught in the context of biological research, this course helps biologists
learn how to use the database management system, MySQL to store, manage and
query biological information.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CS102E Python for Biologists, Level 2; Jul 21-25, 2008
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This course aims at teaching Biologists how to use Python as a programming
language to automate routine data management tasks in biological research and
solve difficult data-related computational problems. Data could be DNA or Amino
acid sequence, microarray data, images, mass spectrometry data, LIMS data, or
any other kind of biological information.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CS102C MySQL for Biologists, Level 2; Jul 28-Aug 1, 2008
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taught in the context of biological research, this course shows biologists how
to use the database management system MySQL to store and retrieve data. It is a
continuation of CS101C MySQL for Biologists, Level 1 and covers advanced topics
and projects.
