The next GMOD meeting will be held January 14-15 in San Diego, California, USA, immediately after the Plant and Animal Genome (PAG) conference. There is no registration fee for this meeting. However, there is limited space, so please register early. See the meeting page for more information: http://gmod.org/wiki/January_2010_GMOD_Meeting.
GMOD is a collection of interoperable open source software components for visualizing, annotating, and managing biological data. GMOD is also a community of users and developers asking diverse questions, and facing common challenges, with their biological data. GMOD has many widely used software packages, including GBrowse, Apollo, CMap, Chado, BioMart, MAKER, Galaxy, Textpresso, and many others. The availability and affordability of next generation sequencing (NGS) has made GMOD particularly timely to a wide range of research groups. As with previous GMOD meetings, there will be a mixture of project, component, and user talks. There will also be a number of satellite meetings focusing on particular areas of interest.
