The mysteries continue...
When I make your suggested change, I no longer get the error. When I
use bbdb-send-mail after a restart of emacs, the GCC header is
inserted into the Message buffer correctly, but the message is *not*
GCC'd to my outgoing mail group..
If I then execute gnus-group-mail and send an email, it is GCC'd to
the outgoing group, and from that point on, the emails sent with
bbdb-send-mail are GCC'd to the outgoing group also. So
(require 'gnus-msg) fixed the error but not the bug.
I am using the Gnus v5.8.8 from the CVS tree on 10/31 and BBDB 2.2.
