I've been doing this the simple-minded way.  I just put the .bbdb file 
(renamed bbdb.txt) onto the pilot, and use the "find" function to find 
the names I want.  No, I haven't updated it that way, but I guess I
could in theory, as long as I was willing to keep track of which
version was "latest", and type a bbdb entry.

Yes, I'd rather have it be automatic.

I too have tried SyncBBDB and had trouble getting the necessary perl
framework set up.
