I think this is a bug. Many of my BBDB entries have out of date, old
or less preferred alternative net entries. Often (geek that I am) I
find it easier to remember people's user names and try to complete on
that, but what I want to appear is the primary net address (usually
in some house style of [EMAIL PROTECTED]). Usernames tend to
be more unique anyway - few people have the same initials but many
people share a first name.
I was forced to set bbdb-completion-type to 'primary-or-name to stop
BBDB completing with some random alternative email address, and now I
have to type (much) more before I can use completion (typically
firstname dot and then at least the first character of the surname,
sometimes two).
