This is Bad. Unfortunately it's hard to track down -- I need a case where
I can watch it happening.
When things have gone wrong you can evaluate (bbdb-resort-database) which
will attempt to fix things, but it's slow, and it might not always work.
(It's a debugging tool, not something you should need to use.)
