Okay, I have discovered two things about this code so far:
1. It breaks completion in odd ways, for reasons I haven't yet looked
into. Try entering a complete email address or name and attempting
completion on it for a demo.
2. It convert's Kai's nice ß into 'ss' for no good reason. I'm
guessing that this is buried somewhere in mail-extr. If I can't
switch this 'feature' off, I'll be quite upset.
