I am trying to use this function and when I try to type out the
name of the record to merge with the minibuffer just shows a
single letter that keeps changing and when I hit space it errors
out with
Debugger entered--Lisp error: (error "Cannot return from the debugger in an error")

bbdb-completion-type's value is primary-or-name.
