I've used bbdb now for about 5 years and in that time the interactive bbdb command has never worked well for me. Here is the scenario:
M-x bbdb <ret> Search records matching regexp: rob <ret> bbdb-record-getprop: bbdb: cannot access the name field this way The string "rob" is just an example. The only way I have found to avoid the error is to type a single "." at the prompt. (bbdb-version) "BBDB version 2.35 ($Date: 2003/08/05 12:29:30 $)" (emacs-version) "GNU Emacs 21.3.50.2 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.2.4) of 2004-08-02 on oops.realmsys.com" I tried debugging this in June 2001 and bounced off the bbdb-search macro. Here is the "paper trail" from my last attempt. http://www.mail-archive.com/bbdb-info%40lists.sourceforge.net/msg02058.html http://www.mail-archive.com/bbdb-info%40lists.sourceforge.net/msg02063.html http://www.mail-archive.com/bbdb-info%40lists.sourceforge.net/msg02064.html http://www.mail-archive.com/bbdb-info%40lists.sourceforge.net/msg02067.html Any suggestions?
