The "something else" you could do, and I would greatly appreciate it, is find the people who came up with this coding-system mess and bang their heads together until they all agree on one name for each distinct coding system. The last time I touched this code, it was because mule-utf-8 wasn't, or maybe had never been, a valid coding system. I will consider patching to include your suggestion, but I'll also consider leaving it as is until someone decides that there's only one actual UTF-8 coding system for all emacsen and it is called "the-one-true-utf-8-coding-system" Cheers, Waider.
