Yes, I used the this tar file to get started. Later I also looked at the CVS, but I thought there werenot so many differences to begin with. I incorporated the hashing of names in the order "lastname firstname". The current official maintainer of bbdb should be receiving copies of our conversation because he is also the administrator of the bbdb mailing list. Let's see whether he'll join the discussion.
