I set my working files up outside of the normal web directories, add
them in the virtualhost section of Apache's httpd.conf and add a local
machine entry with NetInfo Manager (projectName.local).

Then in BBEdit's HTML Websites prefs, I tick the local preview server
checkbox and use 'http://projectName.local/' for the Preview Server URL.

Works flawlessly in BBEdit, and in all the other broswers I need to test
in, I can use root relative paths and just type: 'projectName.local' in
the url bar to access them.

Cheers,
