In my workshop, I've set up an *old* machine--a Mac 7100--primarily
to keep a record of fly-tying activities. I thought I would create
some html files to show myself illustrations and such. Since BBEdit
is the best at creating such files, I thought I would look to the
free version Text Wrangler to do it.
No such luck. The available Text Wrangler requires OS 10 which
doesn't run on the antique 7100. What version of Bare Bones' text
editor do I need and where can I get it? Or do I have it archived
somewhere? I think I've got back at least to BBEdit 5.1. For what
I'm doing, I certainly don't need the power of the most recent
release. As it is, I'll scan images on my primary machine, transfer
to my wife's StarMax running 9.1, then copy to floppy and sneakernet
to the 7100.
I'm running OS 8.6 on the 7100 with *24MB* RAM. Laugh if you
will--I'm having a great time.
I won't be running versions concurrently because I can't be in two
places at once when I'm nowhere at all, so don't suggest anything
that will break Bare Bones' copyrights.
