Hi,
Now I know that BBEdit isn't billed as a project management solution
but since I spend most my computer time in it anyway... I've been
thinking about how to use BBEdit for managing my projects and thought
some on the list may have some ideas. I currently use a combination
of tools but if there's a way to consolidate down to using BBEdit and
one or two other tools...
For background, I'm a home-office based self employed consultant (no
employees) doing mostly embedded systems development with the
occasional Palm app or Mac/PC database thrown in for fun. Here's some
of the types of information I'm trying to keep track of for each
project:
- text/web links about development environments, etc. (Safari bookmarks)
- contacts (can stay in Palm Desktop)
- email correspondence (can stay in Eudora)
- phone call log (currently in Circus Ponies NoteBook - probably overkill)
- to do list (a mess - some in a Eudora folder, some in Palm Desktop,
some in NoteBook)
- general development notes (text files and NoteBook)
- code (editing via BBEdit, I really need to get subversion installed...)
- design/client docs (Word, PDFs, OmniGraffle/Visio, etc.)
Hmm, after reviewing that list, it seems I probably want to get rid
of NoteBook and perhaps save my web links in BBEdit rather than
Safari.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Craig
