We have gotten a fair number of reports about 'disappearing prefs',
and the same thing has happened to me on several occasions with various
apps--not just BBEdit, but Safari, Terminal, and others.


We suspect that there's a (relatively well-concealed) bug in the system's
preferences mechanism, and are still looking for evidence which may help
us isolate the cause.

For the meantime, I suggest keeping a backup copy of your prefs file as a
precaution. (I just make a Zip archive of my BBEdit prefs file and leave
that in my Preferences folder.)
