you might also try something like this
find "Product" searching in text 1 of text document 1 options {search
mode:literal, starting at top:true} with selecting match
set thePosition to characterOffset of selection
you might also try the bbedit-scripting list. It's the natural place
to seek and find answers to your scripting needs.
