Same here. The solution is to set up a window how you want it and
then go to the menu item...
Window -> Save Default Window.

I can't seem to find a setting to change this and really, really,
don't want to go the route of deleting my preferences.
This is new behavior for my experience with every other version of
BBEdit and it's really annoying.
