I'm having serious issues with the way FTP behaves in 8.5.1 (running on an Intel
iMac 1.83 GHz Core Duo with OS X 10.4.8). If I navigate through too many
directories, BBEdit freezes and a force-quit is required. If I open too many
documents, BBEdit freezes and a force-quit is required. Is this a documented
issue amongst other users out there?
Second, I'd like a way to get the old FTP behavior back where, if I open a file
through the FTP browser window, when I go to save the file, the save window
defaults to the location from where I opened the file. Even if this were a
preferences feature, I'd be really grateful. Right now, it's a real pain to
have to re-navigate to the ftp location from where I opened a file. I will
submit this as a feature request to the proper channels, but I'm wondering if
anyone else would like this as a preferences setting, too.
