Hi,

a 'Jump to here' feature would be neat, but not inevitable. I have a shortcut to my htdocs-folder in the sidebar so my files are only 3-5 clicks away. I also recommend the spotlight field in the standard file dialog (just Shift+Tab to it). It took me quite a while to use it on a regular basis but I'm glad it became a habbit. It may not be faster in some cases but it gives me the good feeling that my mac is doing the work and that I don't have to claw my way to that burried file by hand. - The impact of this is that you should use meaningful file and folder names (yeah great, 12 'pic' folders found!)

regards
Roland

I work with several sites buried inside my home directory, and when I start adding Anchor and Image links, I have to navigate to the appropriate directory, which is normally within one directory of the file I'm editing. Please add something like a 'Jump to Here' button to BBEdit's Anchor & Image tools' Open dialogs, to get to the right neighborhood.

Does Command-G (go to folder) in the standard file dialog do what you want?

No, although it could be useful. I'd have to click the 'i', Copy Path, and dismiss the dialog before using the Anchor or Image tool. Then after getting to the Open dialog, I could Command-Shift-G, Paste, remove the filename from the end, and accept. At this point I'd be in the right directory and could actually find my target.

I don't think I'll do it this way, although if I was an AppleScripter, I could add a custom Copy Folder Path pre-action to the Anchor & Image tools...
