Once in a while I ask myself "How can I insert current date, etc,
when I create a new document from a stationary?"
From what I understand there is no way to create a template that
includes placeholders, am I right or have I missed something all
these years?
Is there someway to do this without writing a script?
in your stationery file simply put this
#LONGDATE#
where desired. Save as stationery.
When you create a new file with the stationery simply type command-
control-U, or choose the Markup>Update>Document command from the menu.
